Company History

Patrick Lerz of Wolcott, CT started the Pool Water Pat business in 1987. Driving just one truck, a 1977 International nicknamed the “Yellow Monster”, Pat got his first order when a friend offered to buy his water pump if Pat filled his pool. Water pump in place, the orders started coming.

The summers of 1988 and 1989 boasted two significant turning points. First, Pat purchased a second truck and hired a driver to help with orders. Second, Pat expanded into the pool industry by building relationships with professional pool installers.

Since that time Pool Water Pat has worked for almost every major pool installer in the state of Connecticut. Pat explains, “Their demanding schedules require prompt water deliveries. Upon which, we have built our business on service and on-time deliveries to cater to wholesale and retail customers, alike.”

Operating 7 days a week, 365 days a year, Pool Water Pat now services most of the state with 10 trucks and a full and part-time staff of 15 dedicated drivers.

The Pool Water Pat business is family owned and operated. Pat is very lucky to have his wife of 35 years as his head secretary and dispatcher. His son, Pat, known to everyone as “Junior”, is one of the primary drivers for the company. Pat’s three daughters have all spent hours rolling hoses, answering phones, dispatching loads, and dressing up the aesthetics of the office.
